For current & future MI Homes buyers please beware! This home builder's quality and customer service has declined within the past decade or so. I've been in my M/I home for 7 yrs now and it has been one battle after another.

Overall, I am satisfied with my MI Home but definitely unsatisfied with the way we have been treated after the sale. Would I buy a home from MI Homes again? Do they have inspectors that go around checking work that's being done? This was noticed probably three weeks ago or longer and was brought to their attention. No boot on this and water coming in a brand-new home being built with ceiling, drywall and electrical outlets already installed.

We were supposed to buy a new built by M/I Home, signed the contract in April and it didn't start till July. The quality of the finishes is apartment-grade, at best. The shower curtain rod in the bathroom was cheap plastic and needed to be replaced almost immediately. The quality of the toilet seats is a joke - again, quickly replaced.

Consumers remain on the sidelines due to high mortgage rates and home prices that are putting a new home purchase out of financial reach for many households. M/I Homes is the worst customer service and worst builders I have seen so far. They are very rude and promise lot but do nothing. I bought my house for 700K and after 10 months still lot of things need to be done.
Project manager farms at jefferson
He said he can not do anything as we have no proof of cause. He suggested that I talk to management, but he did not have a contact number. I'm filing this complaint to the corporate office because I am almost done with the building process of a M/I Home... We noticed lot 125 in front of us started with us and lot 123 started 3 months after us, are already installing dreywalls. Cement floors on the porch and in the garage
I have asked for a reasonable resolution. I have already had to correct another faulty construction issue and will some have to replace the rotten railing and post on the upstairs porch. Pressure treated wood does not rot out in 7 1/2 years when it is NOT standing in water.

For those who would ask us, we’d say stay away from MI Homes, as builders of your new home. If you do, do not close until every single room and item is to your expectation, with no defects. They have taken the joy and excitement that comes with the purchase of a new home and left us feeling complete regret in our purchase. The tub that is dmaged is in our third bathroom that is for guests, which we have not had yet. When we went to clean it up after we moved in we found damage to the tub.

I will never recommend M/I Financial to anyone. Even though my family had already purchased 2 property from M/I homes before now. I am a resident next to one of their new developments. If you are buying a new home do a deep investigation on them and find a better company. We would strongly suggest that you do not purchase a home from MI.
This damage is so severe that it needs to be replaced not just repaired. The main remaining issue is that the backyard needs to be leveled. I have tripped and lacerated my lower lip after walking into a low spot. The backyard retains water after rain resulting in fungal growth even after preventative application of fungicides that were placed to prevent the problems.

Who is responsible for this lack of progress, you or Lindsay. M/I Homes offers all the benefits of a large corporation without sacrificing the friendly roll-up-your-sleeves attitude of an energetic and growing environment. In taking the trim and threshold off he saw how improperly the door was installed, it wasn't even level. To compensate for the fact it wasn't installed properly thy used caulk to try to level, over a 1/2 inch of caulk was used. It has taken 7 years for the water to get through and under the rubber seal the protects the sill plate.
